  1. Tomorrow (Friday) people will know if they will be laid off or no. Package and conditions are almost clear like 1 year with 80% of your salary waiting a new job and then the package (max 270 000 euros)representing a bit more than 1 month of salary per year in HP.
like me, 25 years in HP, 200 000 euros.

  2. Good news in France.

The layoff plan will be delayed because the election of the representatives of HP CCF has been cancelled by a French juridiction.

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) paid Chief Executive and President Mark V. Hurd$5.95 million in salary and bonus for its fiscal year ended Oct. 31.
Hurd, a corporate turnaround expert brought in to replace ousted Chief Executive Carly Fiorina in March last year, was also rewarded with $8.68 million in restricted stock and 1.15 million in options, according to a proxy filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday.
The Palo Alto, Calif., computer maker also spent about $500,000 in tax reimbursement, aircraft use and security services for Hurd, the proxy said.
    Corrected January 23, 200618:32 EST (23:32 GMT)
Hewlett-Packard´s Chief Executive Mark V. Hurd received 1.15 million options.
("Hewlett-Packard CEO Hurd Got $5.95M ´05 Salary And Bonus," published at 5:29 p.m. EST, incorrectly stated that Hurd received $1.15 million worth of options.)
Hurd, who came to Hewlett-Packard from NCR Corp. (NCR), also received $5 million in "price protections" to defray the loss he took when his NCR stock declined in value after his departure, according to the proxy.
Hurd also received about $3 million in relocation benefits and a $2 million signing bonus from Hewlett-Packard.

  4. From Switzerland :

    Dear Fiends,

I was informed Monday evening by phone that I was on WFR and Tuesday that I needed to leave HP at the end of this month; difficult to understand and accept after 26 years at HP, especially considering the positive messages from my management. This leaves me an extremely short time to say goodbye, however, I will try to arrange a farewell party (no cards, no gifts, no regrets) in the upcoming days; message will follow shortly with new email address and phone number.

I don't wish anyone the same fate.
    Good luck !
    Kind regards,

  5. It is really a shame to push out a 26 years employee in such a short delay.
We must really be proud and defend the French laws of labor.

    Good luck to you.

  6. I discovered lately this blog.
    What's a pity!
Is this a link that we can forward to any colleages?
I heard from German colleagues that on Friday Januaty 20th, it was a really hard day.
It should be interesting to have a more detailed feed-back from there, explaining the way the designations have been made.
